10/07/2017 — This event was the first pep assembly of the year at Troy High School. We wanted to promote our team in our school so that more people would join the Hammerhead family. The team showcased our robot with a t-shirt cannon attached. We wowed the crowd with our robot and they were thrilled by the idea of t-shirts flying through the air. This happened before the assembly started and we were successfully able to put the pep into pep assembly. Our robotics team had participated in both of the Troy High and Athens High School homecoming parades to promote STEM and FIRST throughout our community.

The Homecoming parade is where all the schools clubs come together to march down the street and present their members. Our team 226 was excited to walk town the street with our mascot, Sharkie, and throw candy at the masses of children on the sidelines. Our t-shirt shooting cannon made our team one of the favorite floats at the parade. In addition to walking down the street and shooting the cannon, we also had an abundance of spirit. The most prominent showcase of this was our mascot, Sharkie. The rest of our members had on our blue team shirts and with blue face paint to show our spirit. We looked like an ocean of knowledge with our Sharkie parading down with us. It was an amazing experience for our robotics team to be able to participate in the parade and to represent our team.
